Kindergarten - 3rd grade
Kindergarten through third grade students will begin by focusing on locomotor movements that will be reviewed and implemented in every unit. Students will gain an understanding of various movements through instruction, demonstration, and application. These units include Locomotor Movements, Fitness, Rhythmic Movements, Low Organized Activities, Track & Field, and Soccer.
Grades 4 - 5
Fourth and fifth grade students will focus on the fundamentals of various sports. Students will learn the rules and skills of each sport and participate in game play. These units include Flag Football, Floor Hockey, Dance, Basketball, Track & Field, Soccer, and Softball.
Grades 6 - 8
Sixth through eighth grade students will focus on personal development and individual progress throughout a variety of physical activities. In addition students will learn to apply health-related knowledge in various aspects of their own lives. Physical activity units include Flag Football, Floor Hockey, Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field, Soccer, and Softball. Lastly, students will participate in fitness testing in the beginning and end of the year to show each student’s progression.

Physical Education Teacher - K - 5

Lauren Graney graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. At DePaul University, she worked for the DePaul Women's Basketball Team as a student manager. Through this experience, she had the opportunity to travel to every university in the Big East, universities across the United States, and even to France. During her college years, she learned the discipline, hard work, and perseverance involved in any athletic program from the student athlete to the coaching/support staff.
Ms. Graney is continuing her education through Concordia University Chicago. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Art in Curriculum and Instruction with English As Second Language.
