If yes, need links to new sign-up and packet.
Participation in the science fair is on a voluntary basis. Students will receive extra credit in their science class for participating. Students are expected to complete the project and the research on their own with NO teacher/classroom support. If your child would like to participate and needs additional support to feel successful, they may join Mr. Parson’s Thursday After School All Stars program.
A good science fair project involves the student in a journey of discovery, driven by curiosity. It typically starts with a student proposing a question or hypothesis, and doing some background research. The student then develops an experimental procedure that will produce data, from which the student can draw conclusions to prove (or disprove) the hypothesis, or answer the question.
Science Fair investigations require time management skills. Students must budget their time, space out the work in manageable chunks, keep to a schedule and complete their experiment early enough to have ample time for making conclusions and retesting results if necessary for confirmation and confidence.
